Big Magic band member Sean Morin

SEAN
MORIN

GUITARIST

Owner and director Sean Morin has over 20 years of experience putting on high-end musical performances in and around Maine and New England, including being the co-owner and musical director of Rolling Stone’s acclaimed band Spencer and the Walrus. Sean has performed as a member of The Cambiata, Rustic Overtones, Spencer Albee, Dominic (and the Lucid) Lavoie, Sara Hallie Richardson, Billy Libby, and Amy Allen, and he has written musical arrangements for The Ghost of Paul Revere, Palaver Strings, Amarantos Quartet, and The Fogcutters.


Big Magic band member Andrew Hodgkins

DRUMMER

Drummer and percussionist Andrew Hodgkins earned an undergraduate degree in jazz performance and classical percussion at the University of Southern Maine. He was a participating member of A&M Octone recording artist As Fast As, and he has played in Spencer and the Walrus, The Awesome, The Ghost of Paul Revere, among many others. Besides drumming, Andrew is a special education teacher, husband, and full time dad of two.

Katie Matzell is a Portland, Maine based singer-songwriter and performer. She has played her original music with her band at premiere venues and festivals around the Northeast, and she has collaborated and shared the stage with prominent artists and bands in Portland and beyond. Katie is thrilled to join this talented group of veteran musicians in Big Magic and honored to play a small part in your special day!

VOCALIST

Tubbs has been performing in every capacity imaginable for over three decades. His talents have taken him all over the country, and he gained notoriety as a semi-finalist on American Idol, as well as a contributor to HBO’s We’re Here and upcoming HBO projects. He speaks mostly in movie quotes, and he has never met a buffalo wing he didn’t like.


Big Magic band member Noah Fishman

Noah Fishman is a performer, composer, and educator who ventures to make bold, playful statements by bending lines between genres. Noah studied at Princeton University and the University of Michigan, and he was selected for the prestigious Betty Carter Jazz Ahead residency at The Kennedy Center.

At home on a number of instruments including mandolin, bass, and guitar, Noah is known for his instrumental creativity, spirited performances, and fluid improvisation. In addition to teaching, composing, scoring films, and touring, Noah lives with his partner outside of Portland with Stevie, their beloved and strange little dog.

Patia Maule is a musical polymath and committed educator. She finds joy in every aspect of music-making, from writing and collaborating to performing and teaching. She is part of two awesome original bands, Forget, Forget & Grand Hotel, both based in Portland, ME. Patia holds a BA in ethnomusicology from Oberlin and teaches at the Maine Academy of Modern Music. If she could grow only one thing in her vegetable garden, it would be sungold cherry tomatoes.

Jamie Bifulco (Colpoys) is a Portland, Maine based trombonist who has been playing trombone for over 25 years and has been active in the vibrant Portland music scene for the past 15 years. Along with Big Magic, Jamie plays across a variety of music genres and groups including: Rustic Overtones, Gina and the Red Eye Flight Crew, Spencer and the Walrus, The Fogcutters, and Royal Hammer. When Jamie is offstage she loves helping others live their best life through EFT Tapping and mindful movement.

Brian Graham is a Portland, Maine based saxophone player who is a member of the nationally touring band Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds, co-leader of The Fogcutters, and freelance musician. He started his career in Maine, and playing the sax has taken him all the way to The Today Show. He currently lives in Portland with his wife, newborn baby, and his dog Charlie. When he’s not playing music he loves to get outside and play disc golf.

Emma Stanley is a soulful, seasoned performer on trumpet, piano, and voice. When she’s not touring the country with a Broadway national tour (most recently Jesus Christ Superstar), she can be found locally in multiple bands including Gina & The Red Eye Flight Crew, The Fogcutters, Native Isles, and OC and the Offbeats. In total, Emma has performed in all 50 continental U.S. states and on 5 continents, and still counting!
